BCSA Board of Directors
Lisa Weeks, Board Member at Large #2

Return to Board page

I am seeking election to the BCSA Board of Directors, Member at Large #2, with a vision toward a unified club that is representative of the various interests and AKC pursuits of members in all regions of the country. In particular, as a 13 year resident of Arizona, I will provide representation for the west and southwest regions, now home to three, and soon to be four, area affiliate clubs. As an owner-trainer-handler of three Border Collies, I compete in conformation, herding, agility and rally obedience. I believe that I will present a balanced and broad perspective, representative of a variety of the interests of the membership. My experience is weighted towards conformation showing, having shared that hobby with my mother as a young person and through my teenage years. As an adult, I returned to the fancy with Border Collies, choosing the breed for its reputation as unparalleled competition dogs, with an interest in learning the then burgeoning sport of agility. In recent years, I have developed a growing passion for herding, and work to continually expand my knowledge and appreciation of the breed and its original purpose. I breed under the affix DesertShore, and have bred one litter to date. I share my enthusiasm for Border Collies and purebred dog sports at every opportunity.

I am on the ballot due to the gracious support of thirteen BCSA members who signed my nomination petition. As a member of the BCSA Board of Directors, I pledge to uphold the Constitution and By-laws of the club; to engage the issues before the Board with an open mind and the highest of ethical standards; to offer honest and well-considered input; and to work to the best of my abilities for the health, betterment and advancement of the breed and the club in all endeavors.
