There were 12 handlers and 19 dogs that competed for the Most Versatile Stock Dog Award at the 2009 national specialty. This year, each dog just needed at least one qualifying score on each course and the high score for each course was used to calculate the winning team.

The remaining dogs failed to qualify on at least one course.

Mary Alice and her young dog, Rin, earned scores of 92 (Started A course sheep Monday), 89.5 (Started B course sheep Monday), 86 (Started A course ducks Wednesday) and 96.5 (Started B course ducks Wednesday) to clinch the top spot.

Claudia Frank and Jaydee earned scores of 85 (Advanced A course sheep Tuesday), 93 (Advanced B course sheep Monday), 92 (Advanced A course ducks Tuesday) and 91 (Advanced B course ducks Tuesday) so the competition was very close.

Congratulations to all the dogs and handlers for consistent and top notch stock work throughout the week.
