2008 BORDER COLLIE NATIONAL SPECIALTY
October 15-21, 2008-Purina Farms-Gray Summit, Missouri
JUDGE SHIRLEE JACOBSON

Return to Judge Central

The sport of obedience began for me when I took an uncontrollable Dachshund to the Des Moines Obedience Training Club’s beginning classes in 1967. This dog eventually obtained a CDX, but not easily. I joined the DMOTC in 1968 and have been an active member ever since. I am also a member the the Des Moines Kennel Club, ASSA and a charter member of the Des Moines Shetland Sheepdog Club and currently serving as corresponding secretary.

I purchased my first Sheltie in 1969 and this has been my breed of choice up to and including the present. I put a championship and UDX on a Belgian Tervuren. And I put a UD on a Keeshond, but most of my obedience training has been with the Shelties. I have shown in both rings and have finished several champions as well as ten UD’s, four UDX’s, and five OTCH’s and several agility titles.

I began judging in 1975 and am approved for all classes and rally. I enjoy judging, but my first love is exhibiting.

It is my privilege and honor to judge for the Border Collie national. I very much enjoy judging national specialties and I wish every exhibitor good luck.
